We also have shaker cabinets. We just went with one pull on the large drawers. It is 7” wide though. On the small drawers we used a 5 3/4” wide one. I really like the simplicity of one pull. Sorry my cabinets look a little dark in the photos. Good luck!

I use one knob for each drawer and door. With the modern hardware for smooth and balanced drawer action, one knob is all that is needed.

Usually you change to two at about 30" drawer width.

I agree with ccwaters. Always one pull. Shop around for longer pulls if necessary.

Thank you everyone. I am keeping my current knobs on the cabinet doors, just was looking to change out the drawer hardware with the new style. Do you think that these 3inch ones would work (the ones I posted above) or do you think they will look too skimpy? I’m open to other suggestions, as long as it matches my current oil rubbed bronze birdcage cabinet hardware. Thank you again!

How big are your current pulls? I’m guessing no more than 3 inches. If that size has worked before I don’t see why it can’t work again. Personally I like a wider pull but if that’s the only size it comes in... and no I would not do two either for reasons described above.

If you don't have any large drawers (which it appears you may not), those pulls could work ok. I will say, however, that it looks like a google search of "birdcage drawer pulls oil rubbed bronze" brought up various options such as:

There are other options as well. You could stick with your 3" pulls, but there are 3.75" and 5" out there as well in that design you're looking for. You just have to search, and then buy samples to see which goes well with your current finish.

As you decide, ask yourself "if I want to replace these down the road/if I ever change my mind on finish, design, etc....would I rather be stuck with 3" pulls or stuck with 5" pulls, etc?" . Once those holes are drilled, that's the size you will need to use in the future.

I have contemplated switching all of my ORB hardware to polished nickel, for that reason I'm glad that I chose 5" pulls all those years ago because I definitely prefer the feel of average-larger pulls as opposed to smaller ones.

If it's 18 inches or less, 1 pull. If it's wider then I would do 2, especially since these pulls are only 3 inches wide.

Thank you so much ccwatters and everyone else for your advice! :) I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the two pulls that you posted links to are a much lighter bronze than my current hardware. They’re more of a dark “brown” all over whereas my current hardware is pretty much black with a small bit of oil rubbed bronze on the tips of the hardware if that makes sense, so they would not match color wise :( that is why I would have to go with the 3 inch pull from the same company that my current knobs are from. The company does make a larger size pull with a birdcage - but it’s not the same style I’m looking for unfortunately.... so I’m stuck! Are there any other pull styles that you think would work well with my current birdcage knobs that come in multiple sizes?? Thank you again!

so now onto my next question, depending on the drawer size, what size pull should I get if they come in multiple sizes? Like on these really tiny drawers that I have, I feel like it would look kind of funny to put the same size pull on them as my larger drawers...? Would it look bad to put different size pulls on different size drawers??

It won't look bad at all. Your drawer pulls should be proportionate to your drawers. I have 3 different knob / pull styles going in my kitchen: knobs for doors, cup pulls for 3 drawers in a hutch, and then a pull for all remaining drawers. For those drawers, I have 3 different size pulls being installed, all dependent on the size of the drawer.
