Waterproof French Oak

Looking for a waterproof French Oak floor that is waterproof: tile, LVT, or another waterproof material. Having the hardest time finding this. Anyone seen anything similar?

Don’t know if it is exactly what you want but check out Coretec Calypso Oak and Provenza Sweet Talker or Loyal Friend. Check out Instagram for photos too.

I'm looking for same and have settled on Provenza Sweet Talker.

Thank you Amy, that was very helpful!

I haven’t seen Sweet Talker in person, i think someone borrowed the floor sample when I went to see it today, but I definitely went to see all of them—none were in the store actually.

The sweet talker is beautiful. Check out Gallagherboyfarm. On instagram she used it and has a floor tour.

Check out hurst hardwoods. Our engineered floor from them looked almost exactly like this.

    Here it is.

That’s ideal. Thanks for sharing, but I can’t do hardwoods because of moisture issues in my home. I had bamboo for 1 week and had to rip it all up because of bowing, cupping, and buckling. Very expensive renovation. Just want to stick to a waterproof floor

I suspect you installed solid strand Bamboo, which is widely known to be unstable. Even when one takes all the proper precautions, it can warp. However, just because Bamboo didn't work, it doesn't mean a properly constructed and installed wood won't work.

I looked for a french oak style vinyl plank for months and ended up going with Provenza Sweet Talker (mentioned by others above). It looks similar to your pictures but with less knots and more variation. I love it!

I liked Sweet Talker in photos, but in person, it’s lighter than expected. I was looking for a medium tone. Anyway this is in store, looking forward to seeing it in the light of my home later.

Sweet Talker is the one with the arrows.

I love it! Unfortunately the place we have to get our flooring from doesn’t carry it so we are getting Coretec probably. Did they have the loyal friends? It’s a new line I think.

Hi Amy, Loyal Friend is photographed in the upper right of the photo with the 3 planks. It doesn’t have bevels like the others.

I looked at Sweet Talker, True Story, and Loyal Friend—that’s the order they are photographed counterclockwise.

I brought them home and they look pretty much the same. This is so hard.

I want my floors to be updated but also timeless. That’s my dilemma. I’m wondering if this is too on trend or will it lasts for at least 10-15 years.

Wish the loyal friends had bevels. I think you will be fine with any of those. I think you have to decide if you want variations between planks (sweet talker) or variations and knots in the plank.

I didn’t know having bevels are a plus !.Can someone explain to me way ?

On there site they said Loyal Friend has bevels . Both Loyal Friend and Royal Crest looks very busy .

I agree with Lila--I do not like bevels in flooring. They are unrealistic looking--no real wood floor would have bevels, and they are dirt catchers.

For LVP I just prefer the beveled edge. Just personal preference for me. I think it defines each individual plank when it doesn’t have it I think it can start to look more like vinyl sheet. Our old hardwood floors in the home we just sold and my sisters hardwoods all have micro beveled never had issue with dirt getting caught.

I agree, Amy. When the bevels aren’t defined, LVP looks like sheet vinyl.

Now I’m concerned that these Provenza floors are finished with Aluminum Oxide and I try to steer clear of anything with aluminum in it because I have a health issue that is worsened with prolonged exposure to toxic heavy metals.

So, looks like it may be back to square one for me.

@owentommom I agree. I actually took my sample board of Provenza Sweet Talker and dumped (clean) kitty litter on it and then proceeded to vacuum it up with a cordless stick vac. No problemo. All little bits came up without issue. Provenza with a bevel - sold to the lady in the front! :-)

@KJ B I'm interested in the same style of floor you posted. Did you pick an lvp? I just got a sample of sweet talker. I think there's too much variation for me.
