Shows sans can take a lot of water if the conditions are right. In time it would have rotted so it's good you got to it. Doesn't look like any S. trifasciata and the list of the others are long and difficult to ID especially if it's a hybrid.

I would say to go back to the seller and see if they can tell you where they got it from. I know they try to keep some stuff a secret but I think it's your only best way to know.

The supermarket would have no idea - but, one trick I have learned was look at the price tag. Usually it lists the actual source that grew the plant - and cross-reference to that grower's website, and contact them. I've gotten the names of some plants that way.

Stush - agreed about watering - my masonianas LOVE water - the more you water, the more they grow. (Trifasciata types and some hahnii would just rot, alternatively.)

Well, there was no price tag actually, no mention of nursery. I will look over the ww page of this supermarket, no great hopes though - usually they just write "Sansevieria" and that is all.

By the way, I am 100 % sure it is not a trifasciata - I grow the species and several cultivars, leaf shape is pretty distinct.

Check the other pots of plants they sell. Could be by the same nursery. Can't see why the manager shouldn't tell where they get them. Head Office of that Super Market must know.

But in any case, If unknown, got to live with it. Still a nice plant. If Norma Lewis was still around this site, she could give the best clues.
