Very pretty roses! Tammy, could I ask where you got your Pomponella and Earth Angel?

If they bloom now, I guess they both rebloom well, right?

My first year Eden does't re-bloom at all :-(

Paint Girl, Pomponella and Earth Angel are both from Palatine. I live not too far so get most of mine there.

My Eden doesn't rebloom either. Boo. I have her growing with Nahema and Clematis as well so that helps me forget about her until she does bloom again next July. haha!

Absolutely wonderful, Tammy, especially for a cold zone. Your Earth Angel is one of the best I've seen. What a pretty photo. I didn't expect much from Nahema, but she has been such a good rose, so far. This will be her first winter in my garden. Photos of roses like these in colder zones are always inspiring. Thank you for posting.

Take heart, paint girl. My Edens were total duds for 3 years. I was already planning their replacements. This year, the blooms were worthy of staying. One, in particular, bloomed the entire summer, non-stop. No kidding! They take a little longer than most climbers to prove themselves.

Beautiful Tammy! I agree with flowers your earth angel is the nicest I have ever seen besides the kordes catalog that made everyone fall for it. Mine were tiny own root so maybe in time they will look like yours. Your pomponella is incredible, I purchased some from palatine last fall also, mine are doing well but the color is much lighter pink. Has your color always been that deep? Your quick silver is beautiful also and your entire garden is well designed and perfect. Please keep sharing!

Wow, Tammy! Gorgeous roses!! So glad I ordered Nahema. Now need to add Earth Angel to my ever growing wish list.

I have two grafted Edens (one from Edmunds and one from DA) plus, one own root Eden. This year the Eden from DA bloomed several times. The other two did not...only in the spring. I dont know what the difference is but the DA Eden is much more vigorous than the Edmunds Eden and I bought them at the same time :/

LOVE the Apple Blossom Flower Carpet!!! The leaves on your Nahema look so flat and normal. Mine have a very distinctive curled look like those on a holly bush. I wonder why.

I believe my pomponella is only this dark because of the cooler temperatures right now. In the summer, it's much lighter. This pic was from the beginning of July.

And I do love my Earth Angel. She is always LOADED with blooms.

I have to say, I bought Bliss Parfuma because I loved Earth Angel so much, expecting the same sort of flower in peach. But...all the reviews here were right. I detect pretty much zero fragrance with Bliss, unlike Earth Angel.

But...Bliss sure is pretty.

My Nahema leaves normally have that curl too.

I wonder if it's heat/weather related. All summer they have the holly leaf look.

Tammy, your Earth Angel is beautiful and what I was expecting from mine, but I've never gotten a bloom like that. What kind of soil do you have, and is your climate dry or humid? My Earth Angels are nice, big, bushy plants with healthy foliage, but rarely bloom. They're 4 years old and if they're going to bloom, they would have by now. If it's my alkaline soil and dry climate, then, they'll never be happy and replacing them would be my best option.

I'm not sure what kind of soil I have. Going by the colour of my hydrangeas, I think it's pretty neutral to alkaline.

Our southern Ontario climate is everything under the sun. Rainy springs. Hot and humid summers. Crisp, sometimes damp falls, and bitter, horrible winters. It's every extreme you can imagine.

Thanks, Tammy. It might just be too dry for them here. One more year and they're history if they can't muster up a few blooms.

@flowersaremusic z5 Eastern WA how did your nahema do over winter? I planted mine in October and am a little concerned. Zone 5 hear also!

Aaron, Nahema is a cold zone winner. Some tip die back, but not as much as I expected. This will be her 3rd winter and I'm thrilled she survives without any protection. You will be glad you have her.

That is honestly such a relief! Thank you for your speedy response--I'd read about it dying back a ton/not being winter hardy at all and was so nervous. Hoping she'll perform as well for me as she did for you!! I can't stop looking at those gorgeous pictures!!!

Aaron, I think some of those reports were Z4 folks. Mine is tip hardy here, so I suspect a little die-back in a colder zone. I love everything about this rose including her quirky leaves! : )) I have Pomponella also, but still in pots so any further info on her would be most welcome. Health seems good so far, but I'm interested in growth habit, size and ultimate thorniness. Will she sprawl as a free-standing shrub? What are her light requirements? Thanks in advance. Not many seem to grow this one.

Vaporvac my Pompanella is a kind of wide shrub, it does not sprawl at all. Part shade under a horse chestnut tree. Good disease resistance.

i love Nahema but does have some significant die back. Mines only a year or 2 old though, and it’s been 2 very cold winters!

@Dingo2001 - Z5 Chicagoland I'm just north of you (if you're still outside Chicago); any pointers? It's been pretty mild these past couple weeks so I'm not thinking to cover my Nahema just yet. I've mounded a bit of dirt at the base though. I definitely want to get it through the winter months as I've yet to see her bloom!

Hi Aaron you must be in WI? I would just do what you’re doing, mulch it well and be done. I think it will do fine - we had a weird cold winter last year, snow on Halloween and still snowing in March or April, I think I would have had more surviving cane if it had been just our regular weather.
