Putting fake wood next to real wood almost always makes the former look... super-fake. You might want to go with regular or stone-look tile instead.

The dark wood floor you already have will do that. Run it into the foyer and kitchen. It's what you'd find in a brand new build at the highest levels. You will have a smoother and larger feel in your home as well. Not to mention easy to clean, warm underfoot, and kind to your back.

Source your tile through a local tile shop, rectified porcelain allows for the smallest grout lines. The shop will allow you to take samples home - do so. You need to see the color at different times of day and how the color looks abutting your wood floor. I prefer a matte finish. Shop will know the best installer. Buy extra tiles because...stuff happens.
