With that size, you want no more than a 1/3 stagger and it should be random...like starting the rows, full tile, 1/3, 3/4, 1/4. 1/3, full...etc. Try to avoid "stairstepping." It all should be as random as possible.

^. this tile has to be laid in no more than 1/3 offset. It's supposed to look like wood flooring, so you'll want to do it like that. it should come with install instructions or guidelines from the manufacturer.

Always have the installers do a dry layout for your approval. They can demonstrate the various options so you know what you are agreeing to. Like this - very different tile but this is an example of layout for approval.

I agree as random as is possible since all the same size tile can never be truly random and make sure the grout matches the tile
