Is there any kind of separation? This doesn't sound like the set up you have, but two tables can be fairly close to one another.

A couple of questions for you - can you see yourself utilizing both dining spaces? Do you have large dining events, where you would use both at the same time? Is there a space that you wish you had room for (library/reading space, craft space, music room, etc) ?

In my last house my kitchen table for 2 was in plain site of dining table. We also had a closed in sun room with yet another table in site. I didn't like the restaurant look.
