Is this a comfortable sofa style?

I am looking for a new sofa, and want navy blue velvet. I like the Tuxedo style, but I’m concerned about the high sides (30” high). Would this style be comfortable? I’m thinking I’d have to have higher side tables, but it might be awkward to put a drink down, for example, but it seems like it could be cozy for TV watching. This will be my only sofa – I’m going with 2 leather Barcelona chairs with it and not a loveseat. Anyone here live with this style?

I have something like this in my living room/bar, for occasional sitting and entertaining. It’s not bad, but I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable for every night tv watching (we watch a LOT of tv though LOL). The sides are stiff and make it hard to relax. To me, it is more for looks.

Thanks to everyone for answering! I am going with a different style for the couch, but still navy velvet. I am definitely going to get tan leather Barcelona Chairs. I think they are comfortable have wanted them my whole life, and now that the kids are out and I'm on my own I'm having them. I'll have the couch for lounging.

I'm still deciding on what couch until after Thanksgiving. I have a lot of people over then and I do not want brand-new furniture to worry about!

This is one consideration. Barcelona chairs were designed in the 1920's and can live with any style.

I love the idea of navy velvet. I was having a similar dilemma recently and went for something more like your second choice.

I'm still waiting for it to arrive at my home!
