Looks good but I think you should have less on the mantel. Take away the wreath and end vases of greener and fronds and put candles on ends. Also need same curtains on all windows and fuller than the ones near the rocker.. No to accent wall.

I use to have that exact area rug in my living room. Feels good under bare feet. One of the first thing I noticed is there is a lack of art work on the walls. The wall behind the rocker needs something on it. As far as the fireplace are those ceramic tiles on the face? I don’t know if they could be painted. Is the fireplace wood? If so perhaps getting a fireplace tool set on the hearth would add color. I like what you have done on the mantel very pretty. I’m the type of person that has to be surrounded by color that’s why the area rug got replaced to a multi-color rug. For some reason when I look at your room I see turquoise and purple. Maybe change out the window treatments. Do you need both blinds and drapes? I need to take another look at your pics. By the way your little friend on the couch is adorable.

Okay I read that wrong, you were questioning about accent paint for the fireplace wall. erinsean is right, don’t paint it. If you had new window treatments with a bolder color pattern with throw pillow for the couch with same colors in them to give the room a “pop of color”. I hate that term but couldn’t think of anything better.

Thank you for replying..I'm actually relieved about not painting the fireplace an accent color..I just couldnt find a color that looked good. We have been in this house 2 years and the curtains came with the house. it's mostly green beige and the curtains have a hint of blue. I would love to change the curtains and I like your idea of updating my pillows with color.

jalarse, yes that is tile on the fire place..
