The photo uploader on this site is notoriously cranky. Try posting your photos here in the comments section, and wait until the photo goes from grayed-out to full color before hitting submit.

Ugh. I've spent 15 minutes trying to post pics in my posts, as a comment, tried reducing image size, waited for it got from grayed-out to full color and then submit button is sort of washed out green instead of full color and won't let me hit submit.

Are there other good forums online for posting photos and getting advice? Houzz has been such a pain in the butt lately. Not just going downhill in the functionality department but content too. I'm getting exasperated!

You can try uploading photos to an idea book you create and link from that. You can delete the idea book later if you want. I can post pics from Pin tress by dragging them out of Pin tress to my desktop and then dragging into the blank side of the window that comes up when you choose "Houzz Photo". I have not been able to post any photos that are my own directly from my desktop recently - only those I put in an idea book or pull off Pin tress (which I am spelling funny because if I spell it out sometimes my post gets "lost". You can also make a private board on Pin Tress load you photos there, then drag to your desk top and drag into the "Houzz Photo" blank side. Sorry if that is confusing:)

Thanks jhmarie, it is not too confusing, just more work than I feel like doing to make this happen. I guess I'll wing it on hanging my artwork. I use 3M command strips so if I live with it and don't love it, I can easily move things around.

Oh, how I miss good old GardenWeb! :-(

Agree with missing functionality. My beef is the search function. Talk about non functioning.

Hmmmm adding would it work to flag the post not as spam but miscategorized. Maybe that way someone takes a look?

Lately I have tried several times to comment and post a couple of pics with the comment. The pictures go from grayed to color as they should, but when I hit submit the whole thing simply disappears. This has happened to some of us in the past so continues to be an ongoing problem. Hard to understand why a platform as large as Houzz can't get these basics consistently right, but participants don't have time for forums that are frequently broken.

I suspect they just don't care all that much. I think the money on this site comes from shoppers not from us posters. I miss GardenWeb too. And yes, my pics are jpgs.
