Hole in bedroom door- quick hide HELP

We have a large hole in a bedroom door that happened when dropping a couch while moving around. We plan on fixing/replacing before we move, but want to hide it from our landlord who will be popping in in 2 days for a quick apartment inspect. Is there any creative way to cover this, hang something from the doorknob or just hide in the meantime? We have a new owner taking over and are worried we will get charged off the bat or some other consequence. Any quick thoughts or ideas?

Cover it with a cheap plastic-framed full length mirror from a dollar store or hardware store. No one will ever know.

Why not be upfront about the mishap and express your intention to fix or replace the door before moving? Life happens in dwellings. Nothing stays pristine. If the landlord asks for immediate restitution, explain that it's not possible but you're open to a payment plan of sorts.
