We are finishing our basement and want tile, preferably a wood look, for the floor. The steps down will be the same color as the first floor (Jacobean stained oak) and white risers. We know it would be difficult to try to match the brown so we want something different but that will look good with the dark brown. We are also thinking something lighter to brighten up the space since it is a basement. The walls will probably be some kind of gray, possibly Benjamin Moore Metropolitan. Any suggestions on the type and color of tile to use?
