Amazing customer service

I recently ordered a new rug for my kitchen sink area from esalerugs.com. I know a lot of people here have ordered from them. When the rug arrived, I realized I'd ordered the wrong size, 5x8 instead of 4x6. I didn't even open it because I knew it was too large and didn't want to have to try to repackage it to return it. Then I ordered the same rug in the right size. I also noticed a 2nd rug that I really liked in a 4x6, so ordered them both, just to make sure one of them had the right colors which would work in the space.

When they arrived, I opened the one that was the smaller size of the original order and really liked it, so decided I'd just return the 2nd smaller rug along with the larger one (free returns are very enticing that way).

Today I called to set up a return and it was hassle free, plus they told me to KEEP the smaller rug instead of returning it and they'd just credit me the $! What??? I've had that happen on inexpensive items from Amazon, but this was $55! I know, cheap for a rug, but it's polypropylene, which works best for my kitchen.

So, I highly recommend them if you need to order an inexpensive rug online!

Good to hear Oly. I've only ordered from them once. The rug was lovely, but the colors weren't what I'd hoped for. It was very easy to return. When returns are easy, I'm much more likely to take a chance on merchandise.

I've also ordered a bunch of rugs from them and was very happy with the results. Someone, (maybe here) suggested ordering the smallest size possible to see if the colors work. Much easier to return a tiny rug than a large one.

When calling to return a rug from them they offered me a full refund or a 20% discount should I decide to keep it which I did. A very pleasant buying experience.

Here is a question...if you order a rug online but then need to return it, how do you package it back up once opened?

i have ordered small indoor/outdoor rugs before that I use in my entryway but have never needed to return them. However, I’d like to order a larger rug for my family room, but wonder how the return process works for such a large item, if it doesn’t work out?

BTW, thanks for the tip about esalerugs having great customer service. I was just planning to look for a new entryway rug so I’ll definitely check them out, and will see if they have any larger rugs that might work for my family room.

I think it's a good tip to order the smallest size available to check colors and pattern before committing to the larger size. Then (hopefully) you only have to return a small one. That works well for a place with mass produced rugs like esale rugs because their designs are produced in lots of sizes. They do also sell better quality one of a kind rugs, so I guess I'd call customer service and see what they say about returning larger rugs, if needed.

I think, years ago, I had to return a rug somewhere - if I remember correctly they wanted original packaging for a return, which was an impossible task to get it back into shrink wrapped plastic. So I just used heavy duty black garbage bags like you'd use for leaves and taped it on very well. They took it back (don't recall the store).

I returned a larger rug to them and taped the original plastic wrapping back around it. I couldn’t roll the rug small enough so I taped on some additional plastic. It wasn’t easy. I could have bought some heavy duty plastic at HD and it would have been easier but I just wanted to get it done and shipped out.

I also needed to return a smaller, inexpensive rug and they told me to just keep it, donate it, etc. I found another place for it where it looked great and I felt kind of guilty. I get that the cost to pay for return shipping is more than their cost of the rug so not worth it.
