Tall Mystery Plant Identification

I received a plant from school, which I assumed to be a succule based on the rubbery texture of the leaves. So I put it in a southwest window for a few months and it started growing. Then when I came home I put it under a grow light since I didn’t have a south or southwest window. It grew taller then the grow like in just another three-four months. I’m not sure what kind of plant this is anymore? If anyone knows could you tell me and explain why it’s growing so tall?

Dont know what it is, but I am almost sure that if you cut the top it will branch.

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana? As to why it's growing so tall: it's not getting enough light.

I think Dax is right, I'd go w/Kalanchoe too.

It looks like kalanchoe, and needs much more light to grow more compact. How far from the light is it?

Overall, they could grow over a foot tall, but should get lots of light to keep leaves close together.

You can cut it and re-root the cutting. Leave rest of the plant (part with roots) in the pot, and it may continue growing. They root very easily. If you want to keep it short, regular pruning will help.

you should let it set blooms for the season. it will need 14 hours of dark daily for several weeks to set buds. Prune after it has bloomed.
