Here is one example:

Table is 5’ round and rug is 9’ square

If a rug isn’t important to you, then the table could be larger (as you want to pull back chairs from table and keep 4 legs on the rug).

Table is 7’ round with no rug.

I have a dining room a similar (slightly smaller) size and we have a round 51 inch table which feels right for us, without a rug. Seats 6 comfortably. The idea of using a 7 foot table is wild and frankly bonkers to me. It might look fine in that diagram but it won’t be in real life. You want room both for people to move their chair back and room for someone to bring food to the table at the same time. You also might want a bar cart, console, plant, or other thing along the walls.

Take some masking tape and outline your table on the floor, then put chairs outside the masking tape. Then see how it feels walking around the chairs.

We used a 60 inch round table in an 11 ft square breakfast nook. Don't think you can go any bigger. 6 chairs for everyday, squeezed 8 + for extra guests. Anything bigger and you can't reach the middle of the table.
