If you seal the marble properly it shouldn’t stain, but etching and chips will happen. I don’t think etching is that noticeable and it doesn’t bother me, but others may not feel the same way. There are many threads on this topic and several related specifically to fantasy brown. Good for you for knowing that fantasy brown is not quartzite and that the stone yards often mislabel slabs; you’re off to a good start just with that info.

If you are going to install marble, get it honed before installation. Be prepared that it will etch and chip if you are not careful about wiping up drips, spills, etc very quickly. Leaving butter out directly on marble will stain it.
