You've made beautiful choices thus far. I would choose a color from your stone for your backsplash tile.

Beautiful kitchen so far!! Agreed with @eam44, pick a color from your counters for your backsplash. I also have white macaubus counters and my stone has a golden brown, creamy white, dark blue (nearly black) and gray veining running through it. I'd stick with a dark gray or creamy white and bring color in with window treatments. Also, will help if you are installing brass hardware... that will pop on your cabinets.

dark gray! If lighting is adequate then it will not feel dark or monotone. Champagne gold hardware would like nice.

I think tile in a soft, warm-leaning charcoal gray would provide contrast and also fit with your serene palate. You've done a lovely job so far - bring home many samples to see what works for you!

Your backsplash will have to relate to the counter material color and not clash with the cabinetry.

I'd try for a bit of sparkle to leaven the grays (although the combination is beautiful so far!), maybe a ridged glass tile, or a white with a bit of visual texture (surface not pattern).

Some shade of medium to dark grey should break up the single color look. Subway tiles are always classic, which your kitchen definitely is, but an interesting shape would also enhance the look. Gorgeous kitchen so far!

I am seeing big differences in color from one pic to the other make sure before choosing anything else you get LED bulbs in 4000K for all the lighting then what ever you choose will be true to the color all the time. I would like to see the whole space including the flooring before suggesting a backsplash

I would actually use the same stone on the backsplash -- this would create such a wonderful flow. Then I would pick bold hardware for a more robust and more powerful look.

Ditto what Aqua said ^^^^. I'd carry the counter material onto the backsplash. It would blend beautifully and be a great backdrop to awesome door hardware (bling!).

We initially our plan was to carry the same quartzite on to backsplash, even bought the slab. But after countertop installation, we decided not to. It looks same same with cabinets.

We are thinking of doing this triangle ceramic tile in charcoal grey to create a geometric pattern. Fingers crossed.

White tile in any shape is always a safe bet. You can always contrast with a darker grout.

I'd do a white subway - The stone has a lot of movement and you said both the cabinets and counters are gray. I wouldn't want more gray.
