Of the 3 options the best one is the marble looking tile. The grey plank one is not a good match to the gray of the vanity; and the hex is meh.

I have a teeny bathroom with that exact layout. I used a large tile on the floor and it looks fantastic.

The wood look trend is already in the rear view mirror. I'm partial to the hex but that's because I prefer an older look. I think the large format will be fine.

Would definitely not mix the number two floor tile with that countertop. And agree with above about the wood look not working with cabinet.

I love the look of white subway tile and white hex floor. So classic.

Agree, just be careful with floor grout color. A mid or dark toned grey will make the floor pop and be MUCH easier to keep clean.

I ususally use the 12 x24 tile on the floor and the tub surround it makes a small bathroom feel bigger IMO. I think the fewer grout lines the better everywhere.

I personally think large format tile would look good, but a more plain one. The vanity has 2 distinct patterns already.

That Restoration Hardware vanity has a REAL carrara marble top so I wouldn't want to use a marble look porcelain- It would look fake with the real stuff. - No to the wood, - I'd use the hex - It's timeless and classic, and it's not trying to look like the marble you already have on the vanity top.

Of those 3 i would use the the hex with a mid-tone gray grout. It will be less slippery because there is more grout. The faux marble looks too slick for floor tile. Check your choice to see if it is rated for floors. A large format tile would be great but those 2 conflict with vanity wood or countertop. Can you find a porcelain tile with a subtle mix of warm Beige/stone colors and cool greys? Going a bit darker will hide dirt (like the midtone Grout in the Hex) and a greige mixing warm and cool will be more versatile when repainting or adding decor.

@Kathleen Kirchoff @Design Girl Thank you both, I see your points. I was worried about the fake look of marble on the flooring with the carrara vanity top. My gut says i should go with the hex, but i really want a large format tile, just for something different. One more visit to the tile store tomorrow, I'll see what they have for beige/stone colors before I decide!

Yes you can choose a larger hex. Small ones are necessary for shower floors but not for the bath floor.

Of those three, the hex is the best choice. There are plenty of large format tile options out there, though, so I'd have a look in a specialist tile place. Oh, and I disagree with the notion that showers need small-format tiles. They need tiles rated for wet areas, but those tiles can be any size you want. Our shower has 24" x24" tiles and they're not slippery at all.

How about a 6 x 6 carrera hex to go with the vanity top. I've got 6 X 12 carrera on my bathroom floor and I love it. It's reasonably priced because it's not a small or difficult cut. Lay in a brick pattern having the longer section horizontally as you enter the room. Will pair nicely with the subway on your walls.

No, don't do beige stone with carrera!!! Look for a larger hex.

Maybe instead of beige it could mean like a linen? Kathleen said beige/grey. Maybe it could mean a cool, stone linen, so it's a bit earthy to match the wood vanity and cool to match the marble. A bit hard to find the right one though. Maybe white or grey is easier b/c sink is white and a wall is white?

It's classic, durable, and goes with that vanity. It was what I had envisioned all along, but walking into a tile shop is overwhelming with all the other possibilities!
