Problem in the bathroom

As shown in the picture there seems to be some water running on the wall next to the shower. I have an air exchanger which is always running in the bathroom and I always let the door closed during and after the shower.

My experience with condensation in my OLD bathroom, was that the fan could run, but not take the steam out during a shower, resulting in mold growth. The solution for that old bathroom was to keep the doors open. In the NEW bathroom, the gap under the doors is about 3/4 to an inch wide, to allow for make up air to replace what is being exhausted. If you don't have make up air you aren't going to get rid of the moist air in the room while showering. In the new bathroom, I never get the wall moisture. My mirror steams up rarely, only the shower doors. In both set ups, old and new, the fans were sized appropriately. The only difference I could figure out was the make up air being available in the new BR.

Thanks for the answer! Actually the water isn’t coming from the shower. It’s as if it’s humidity running down the wall.

Does your shower and room steam up while showering even if you have the fan running?

It looks like condensation. Do you have the exhaust fan running during your shower? If yes, turn on the fan, get a small ladder, and see if it is sucking very well. It may be that the fan is not drawing enough air out fast enough.

Condensation also occurs when hot steamy air hits a cold surface. Is the wall colder than the rest of the bathroom? Feel it before turning on the shower and see how it compares to other walls. Is it cooler? If it is, try to figure out why. It might be that you will need to wipe this wall off after every shower if the fan is working well and this wall is just cold, unless you can get some insulation into the wall.

This happens in my house, and we always run the fan. It used to bother me but now I don’t notice it. Maybe fans aren’t strong enough.
