Trying to post picture

It's 4" tall and the bristle portion is about 2".

The bristles are relatively thick and are almost plasticine in feel but I think they are more likely to be long boars' bristles or other natural quill than plastic given the age of the. piece.

I don't think it is a suede brush. I actually have owned suede brushes and the bristles are shorter and a bit softer and there are generally more of them in the bush head.

Thanks. I am always astounded when there are duplicates for my weird stuff. The internet really killed off my joy at spending my Sundays at one of the fleas in Southern California because what I saw rarely if ever can now be located with a few clicks of the mouse.

Well the seller may call it a clothes brush but all clothes brushes I have seen were closer in shape to a hair brush. I would guess that was for a hat. Velour and felt hats from that era needed brushing to maintain the pile.

The internet HAS ruined the fun of antiquing and fleamarketing, hasn't it?

(Also, in line with what Linda's saying, many things are guessed at and mislabeled on internet auction and web sites, so unless it comes with original packaging, be skeptical!)

True about the amateur internet sellers being clueless in terms of their merchandise often.

With something as odd as this, it doesn't really matter since I didn't get it for its functionality but for its weirdness.

However, I really find it annoying when they completely mislabel styles and genres because if I am searching specifically for Art Nouveau or Art Deco or whatever, I don't want to pull up 1000 images of something purchased at Home Goods.
