I just took a couple pictures, but it is cluttered because I am getting ready for a party tonight, usually not like this with all the stuff all over it.

My husband said we are going to update the kitchen, except appliances because they were new when we bought the house 6 years ago and most likely keep cabinets same color?

But, he is going to have the upstairs repainted a light gray to go with the honey oak doors and trim we have throughout the house. Not sure what color gray will make the oak pop too. The cabinets are more of a washed with some light gray in them.

We want to get rid of the little “table” at the end of the ledge and add a larger countertop that we can put 4 chairs underneath to eat. Going to put “wood” floor upstairs in kitchen and living area. New countertops, sink and backsplash.

Would love to hear some suggestions and ideas about the kitchen and what color gray would look great with our honey oak .
