In May and later in summer.

Paula, if you can get out earlier, good. Otherwise, May will be here before you know it. Hang in there! ....Funny I saw the Flintstones the other day. First time in decades! MeTV.

Saija, Gypsy Rose is a good grower for me, too. Yours is looking good!

Sherry, nice GE! I feel for you with the bad hail this year. One year I had nothing to post because of hail. This year my hostas got pock marked in May but not shredded.

peren, I could tell that was Gemstone before I scrolled down to the name. I'm glad I copied you and got one! Goober, what a name for a hosta with such pretty flowers.

sunnywood, mae, both nice looking Goodness Gracious.

djacob, your Gold Standard is so bright and cheerful looking in the sun!

steve, great looking Grand Prize. I think mine is shrinking.

Maria, that's a big Guardian Angel with beautiful color.

I hope the forum starts working better for everyone. Maybe they're making some upgrades for certain devices? Usually the problems clear up so keep trying!

Maria, your Guardian Angel is outstanding......

Dave, that Gunther’s Prize is a first prize.

Sandyslopes, thanks for the compliment on the Gold Standard, it was tagged F. Albo-picta but forum members think, Gold Standard. Stupid labels.

Djacob: Yes Gypsy is Striptease sport. I love colors of your Gold Standard.

Peren.all: you have so many mature hostas, they look beautiful.

Maria: your Guardian Angel is amazing.

Karin: can't say anything but big wow: you have so great collection of hostas.

Dave: your Great Expectations is something I hope mine would be in future.

Shadow and Marie your Guardian Angels are breathtaking.

Late to posting my pictures so here they are.

    Ghost Spirit

Gold Regal - I love the green streak in one of the eyes, I hope it comes back this year like that, then I will separate it.

    Gold Standard

Golden Meadows - this has been getting smaller each year. I might need to look for a new location for it.

The like is still not working, so I am liking all....

Steve, I am about 90 minutes from Land of the Giants and plan a trip there to purchase hostas for my new bed. Can’t wait!

Beth, all of yours are lovely....your GS is a beautiful green color! Hope that streaked leaf on Gold Regal comes back.

    Guacamole

Beth, you have an awesome Great Expectations. Mine will need to live up to yours

also, it is so interesting to see your Guacamole in comparison to some of the others....so dark and shiny. A beauty in your garden

djacobz I think Great Expectations is in it's happy place, under a pine tree with filtered morning sunlight. It is fun to see all the differences with all the hostas based on growing conditions, my Guacamole is in pretty dense shade so it stays pretty dark.

Thanks for the jokes Paula. They made me laugh!

Saija, you started the "Gs" off so nicely. I liked seeing the first picture of your lovely Gold Standard. I just purchased one last year. djacob, love the color on your Gold Standard later in the season. Wow, Shadow such a large beautiful Gold Standard! Love yours too Beth!

Gemstone is a real sweet looking hosta, peren.all, sandyslopes and karin. It's gone on my wish list.

Love all the Guardian Angels and the Great Expectations!

I really like your Grand Prize, steve and sandyslopes. I hope mine grows to look like yours.

I admire that Green with Envy Dave. Doesn't look available around here.

This is the one I look forward to seeing most in the spring.

nhl, I would have never guessed that Gypsy Rose ever struggled. It looks so full now. And outstanding Great Expectations! Such a pretty hosta.

Newhostalady, is your GE in a pot? It is gorgeous!

    Ginzu Knife

I think y’all identified this one as Gold Edger. It’s a tidy little mound.

Gosen Sunproof one of my biggest Hostas.

    Grape Fizz

Very nice zkathy, especially that Ginzu Knife!

Ginzu Knife has really sunk down in that tall pot. I guess I’ll raise it this winter. I have no idea how far down those roots have grown in the past three years.

Thanks for the compliments sandyslopes, djacobz and peren.all. GE is growing in a pot and has been for about 8 years. Prior to that it was in the ground. It was divided once (incorrectly) and I lost half of it.

Love the Guardian Angels---one (amongst others) that I struggle with.

Ginsu Knife is really pretty in that red pot kathy.

zkathy, couple of questions. I really like the look of your ginzu knife, is it very hard to find?

And your gosen sunproof-are the leaves that shiny or are they wet? Plus does is keep its darkness in the sun?

New hosta lady- guardian angel is a heartbreaker for me too. I cannot keep the slugs from it

Oursteelers, I think Ginzu Knife was readily available a few years ago. Gosen Sunproof might have some wax that melts off and leaves the leaves shiny. Here’s two pics, one from mid May and one from September.

    Thank you!

zkathy..I love your Gosen Sunproof..standing tall with longer cascading leaves is a look that I love..I like taller plants in my woodland with my tall trees..

    LOVE the boulders..

Oursteelers, your poor Guardian Angel! It looks like its in a pot. Is this pot placed on the ground? Are the slugs that are eating your GA living in the pot?

I think they are! I’ve done both beer and sluggo in that pot without much success. I even tried diatomaceous earth (by far the most useless) and nothing has helped. I will probably try copper next!

Mbug, I really like that Golden Prayer. It would be a good edger plant I think. Your Guardian Angel is definitely an award winner! So large, so perfect!

newhostalady, I I love that little Geisha in a pot! Also, Golden Meadows is awesome

zkathy, your Gosen Sunproof is a beauty. In that first picture it looks like it just rained on the leaves. I also like the Gold Edger, it would also make a good edger.

oursteelers, my heart breaks for you. Those (explicative) slugs!!! They ate my on of my So Sweets into this state......it is infuriating, isn’t it? Will you move it?

I will probably move it to start with, see if I can get the pot slug free and then put it back. Did your So Sweet bounce back?

The damage came at the end of the season, when I purchased it. One night I found 7 of those fat things preying on it. Killed them all, haha!

oursteelers, I would remove the plant from the pot and have a look to see whether I find any slugs burrowed into the side or on the bottom of the planter. I would also gently scratch the surface of the pot to check for slugs. If you find slugs, then that may be the end of the problem. But the slugs may have deposited slug eggs into the pot. That would require removing all the soil and repotting.

    A couple of G's

    Guacamole

and Guardian Angel in the right side.

Thank you newhostalady! I‘ll look tomorrow

Had the wrong name for this one so you get another pic. Giantland Irish Mist
