Help with long flower stems

Hi African violet addicts,
A friend of mine has grown a few violets for a long time. She has always grown them in window sills, quite successfully. Recently the blooms have been coming in on much longer stems than ever before, picture below. She does turn them occasionally, and I've advised her to turn them more often, as the plant in the photo is obviously leaning toward the light. She hasn't changed anything in the way she grows them, and the plants otherwise look healthy. I must say that the weather has been pretty dreary for quite a while here in New Jersey, with many cloudy days. Perhaps that has affected them? Any thoughts? Thanks.
