Need backsplash ideas

We recently remodeled our small galley kitchen from old builder grade cabinets, flooring, counter and lights. The new look is kind of contemporary beach I think. I was thinking of gray or white subway tile Or gray/white linear tiles. Not sure which is better I like both looking for suggestions or guidance. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Love your kitchen! Are your counters purely white? Or do they have a little movement / color in them? Do you have a budget for tile?

No it isn’t pure white it has small bits of black and grey veining. Somewhat of a budget I guess it’s only 18 sq feet but I would like to keep it under $200

Check out tilebar.com. You can order 5 samples for $5. I'd also go to your local tile store and take a look at sample and bring some home. I do not recommend the linear tiles as that is a very dated look.

What color is the paint on the walls? If blue, how about a grayish blue?

i have a similar counter and a member posted her kitchen with Jeffrey a Court Riverwash. I am going to look into it.

It’s a grayish blue. I had thought about a grayish blue subway, then a gray or solid white. I’m looking for a backsplash not too busy since my floor has a lot going on. I have the hardest time making any decision just picking out flooring was a tough one and wall color, don’t get me started on the counter decision.
I did order a few samples from tilebar those didn’t work I will be going back for another look. Thank you everyone.

The under-cabinet lighting is too blue.

Your u dear cabinets come across my monitor as weirdly blue?

    Under cabinet lights, duh...

I also agree under cabinet lighting needs to be fixed before you select backsplash. Once that’s fixed then samples can be propped up and studied.

I’m wondering if the under cabinet lights look blue because it is reflecting the blue painted wall? We painted that space what the rest of the walls are until we get a backsplash. I’m not sure how I could change the lighting ? They don’t look like changeable lights

How about subway set in a chevron or herringbone pattern. Looks fresh to me. No on the linear tile.

Ok thanks Brenda I have ruled out linear my daughter also said the same thing. I really do like the clean look of subway.

Hmmmm very interesting so a basic subway tile pattern staggered or uniform? I have seen both ways. I will remove those items and see how that looks like you said. I'm not too attached to those items anyway LOL Thanks Brown Dog

The lights almost look fluorescent! Fix that before you even consider backsplash choices. It will help a lot!

It's all personal preference. I suppose you can get sick of anything. There is a lot of choice out there. I like those patterns if done in a soft monochromatic look. I don't like dark contrasting grout. It takes time to decide. Good luck with your choice!

So true it is a personal preference for sure! There certainly is way to many choices out there. However after posting this question I have narrowed it down considerably. I have ordered more samples of just subway tiles hoping to come to a decision soon so I can move onto my next house project.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions and input. Here is the backsplach I chose it’s a white subway tile but kind of textured someone said rustic. It sure what but it’s not the basic white flat subway tile.

It looks very impressive. I would like to cook in such a kitchen. Everything is thought out, in bright colors. I'm looking for a similar inspiration. Thank you, you prompted me to the right thoughts. I am very pleased.
