No flooring can go over that brick. All flooring requires a flat surface, the brick will telegraph thru most types of flooring. Putting plywood down then flooring will also raise your floor a couple inches then all doors and trim will be off, etc, etc.

Sorry man...millworkman has beat me to it. The floors must be SMOOTH/flat/level for any floating floor to go down over top.

The bricks need to come OUT or you need to clean them up, prime them and then sink them in a coating of cement (assuming the mortar between the bricks is cementatious and not dirt or sand). That should raise your floor by about an inch or more.

Now you can put down the vinyl. And remember: vinyl does NOT like direct sunlight and it does not like to be exposed to heat (ie. direct sunlight) that warms it beyond 85F.

So long as your windows have a 50% UV rating or higher, vinyl will work in this space. If they are regular windows without anything special then vinyl will most definitely have a problem.

Not to mention the door and window heights having issues with a raise of 1-3". That's another story.

Prime and pour a self leveler. Contact manufacturer with photo for their approval prior.

Ardex, USG, Laticrete, Mapei etc. Preparing the brick for primer will be a priority.
