I'm new to !!!

New to Hoyas

Pls provided a pic so we can try to diagnose it. Really can't say from just your description, sorry. Did it have any roots when you potted it up?

Also pls allow some time for folks to respond.

The top leaves seem to be softening up and are drooping down a bit

Thx for the pix. tho' it doesn't show us much. Repeating my Q? Did the cuttings have any roots? Is that all one cutting or several pieces?

Re-reading your comments -- that's all one piece, right? Sounds like you potted it up w/ no roots.

I would have cut it in several pieces & water rooted it FIRST, for several wks, & then potted them up.

just take it out of the soil and float/submerge it in water for up to an hour: it'll help with limp leaves. then put it in water with a little 3% peroxide to keep it fresh(a few drops in a half glass). and repeat the soaking after a few days.

the leaves should firm up. you can continue to dunk them now and then while waiting for the roots. in my experience they take a long time to root, may be 8 weeks or more. without dunking most leaves will shrivel up by that time and it will take much longer to produce new leaves.

I agree that it will be better to cut the long cutting into 2 or 3 pieces, provided each has at least 3 leaves on it. I can't see from the photo how long is yours, but perhaps you can cut it in two. it will also be a bushier plant (plant them together). I generally plant many cuttings 3-6 in one pot, as they only get longer and don't branch much in the beginning.

Thank you for the advice! These two pieces are actually both rooted. One has more roots than the other, they both have soggy leaves on top though. Should I still take them out of the soil to do the dunking in hydrogen peroxide? And followed by putting in water afterwards or maybe should I put it back in the soil potted?

This time of year is a tough time for rooting cuttings, and even for newly rooted cuttings. I would put it in a humidity dome which will help the leaves retain firmness while the roots get stronger.
