zero care. I've put it in dozens of houses. The quartz composition is similar to cultured marble. Both are mostly resins. I once broke an ink pen on a quartz countertop. Cleaned right up

If you look around on Houzz you'll find threads that talk about quartz that have problems and are not " zero care."

I've had 4 houses with granite and many friends but they have been in the kitchen. No one has had any issues with theirs. And I don't know anyone that seals theirs every year but that is easy enough that you can do it yourself.

I have white Corian in my 20 yr old masterbath. Sister left dye in the sink 2 hrs before I caught it. Cleaned right up. I've been on Houzze for 6 yrs and have yet to read anyone that was disappointed in their Corian both in the kitchen or bathroom. And these are homes that have had it "forever." My shower is also Corian which I thought was odd when I bought it 3 yrs ago but now think it is brilliant as I don't have to "seal" and no grout to deal with. Very easy to clean. I've had Zodiac Quartz in a little used guest bath in another house. I could never get rid of the water spots. I'm doing a major redo and I'll be using Corian on the vanities ( including integrating Corian sinks) and a Corian shower ( only because I'm changing the footprint).

That said, the best thing for you to do is get samples of what you are considering and put different things that are going to come into contact with your counters, leave it on there for a day or so and see how they clean up.

tedbixby - I am leaning towards Corian for all the reasons you mentioned - and I can do the intergrated sink for easier cleaning. The quartz in my kitchen has held up wonderfully, but I feel like bathrooms get more chemical onslaught.

Ha-ha... jhmarie I didn't even notice that you were the OP. Sometimes even us "Houzzers" need some help and other's insight.
