Building a Home Basements

Central PA House Build

My wife and I are planning to potentially use the Endura Wall System (https://www.endurawallsystem.com/) for at least the basement. They don't have any buildings in PA or the northeast US, but have been around for over 30 years. Does anyone have any experience with their product, or know of any potential pitfalls?

The blocks are thermally bridged, therefore the R-value of the EPS foam inserts is invalidated.

These are expensive CMUs (concrete masonry units)

It would be much less expensive to build with standard CMU's and use interior and/or exterior foam board to insulate. It'll also be easier, and use off the shelf materials.

If you are in central PA I encourage you to look at Superior Walls as an alternative--particularly for the basement, but they offer walls for above-grade construction, too. They are manufactured in central PA and you'll probably find a considerable freight savings.
