bkay2000, , I had some Iris from a friend some years ago. They were lovely and I welcomed the flowers in my otherwise non-flower yard, until....after three years they had tripled in size and were taking over the yard. They all were yanked out and thrown away. I agree about the hostas, but no signs of early pips here in Wisconsin. :-)

We occasionally have way-too-early plants here and they are almost always iris. People here have resorted to covering the blooms with socks if snow is coming. But "early" for us is not this early and we can have snow as late as late May.
