Tween room ideas girl

My girl has a small room and wants to remodel it. She is 11 and wants the room to be organized. She also wants tropical colors. Any ideas? We want less expensive options if possible.

We can help you better if you communicate a bit more with us. If you are looking for organization solutions, give us the room measurements and an idea of what needs to be organized. Display storage on open shelves or hidden storage (under-bed, closet)? Collections of stuffed animals? Sports trophies? Clothes? Memorabilia that only gets taken out once in awhile? Off-season clothes?

Less expensive options are often to refinish or re-purpose things that you already have. Let us see what you already have and we can give suggestions. Are there things that you know you need to buy e.g. a bigger bed or a new desk for schoolwork? Is the flooring staying the same?

Save some pictures in your idea books of rooms that your daughter likes. Let us know what she likes about them (e.g. the colors, the storage ideas, arrangement of furniture etc.) Tropical colors can mean different things. Ocean themed/turquoise? British colonial look? Hot pink? Jungle greens? https://www.houzz.com/photos/query/tween-girls-bedroom-turquoise/nqrwns

When my daughter was around that age I bought a cheap cubbie unit from Target. I think it was the Closemaid brand. I bought cubbies in tropical colors and they worked great. She still has the closetmaid unit but it's inside her closet. Plastic baskets are also great for organizing. If her room is small you can consider lifting her bed so you can put storage underneath too.

My daughter is 12 and really wanted to redo her room too. So we bought her a Home Sense gift card for Christmas and let her buy what she wanted. Worked great!

I’m all about letting her add stuff to the main idea of the room but wanted to keep the furniture nice. She is white furniture and added colour in bedding, pillows, prints on walls etc

We need to see the space and understand what she likes which BTW might not have anything to do with what you like .If you want to keep the budget in check paint the walls a nice . neutral like white. Add color with bedding and pillows because next year the favorite things will be different I can guarantee. At 11 she is just figuring out what she likes and it takes time .Take her shopping with a $ 200 budget

My daughter wants a very organized space and everything needs a place . She has a huge stuffed animal collection she refuses to part with. She also wants an open floor space and room by her bed for the trundle bed she has. (sleepovers are a must). She likes jungle greens and turquoise blues and hot pinks. She is kind of a hoarder of memorabilia too so that needs a place to live as well.

There’s this storage that can be installed up in corners that can hold many stuffed animals. If she just wants them around but doesn’t need to see them, I’ve seen people purchase a bean bag (without the stuffing) and stuff it with the stuffed animals.

I would look for tall, floor to ceiling shelving. She can put different things on it as her tastes change, and keep things organized in baskets. It will maximize floor space but give her room for all the stuff that kids collect. And she will never outgrow it.

We did wall shelves up a bit higher than the kids were for all their collections , a huge corkboard for all kinds of pictures , tickets that kind of stuff . We need to have measurements and best in a to scale floor plan with all windows , closets and entry marked .All measurements clearly marked.

I was looking at Amazon one day and they have bean bag chairs that you stuff with stuffed animals. She could rotate out her collection as the mood strikes, but also keep them contained. I thought it was a cool idea. (But I’m not a tween, lol)
