Strange Range Opening - am I screwed?

Hi everyone,
I've got a range that I need to replace (one of the wire connections between range and the cord broke and sparked), and it's a weird setup in the opening in the cabinetry. The box is 30", minus a 1/2 smaller reveal around the countertop, where the range slid in around this jut in the top. So the top is 29", but the bottom is 30". I've read about the drop-in range, but I believe it's not a drop-in range, as the range is too tall to be a drop-in and sits directly on the floor.
Since I've never bought a range before, am I going to be ok with a 30" cutout or not? Thanks in advance for the help!
