Never ideal to have a window in a shower but I certainly would not have one that large. I may cave on an awing type fairly high up or a small double hung but only if I was confident in the waterproofing methods for the ENTIRE shower area.

All depends on what the exterior looks like and where the window is located.

Outside wall is just siding so I figured I would be replacing the siding on that entire bump out so that wall would match. (therefore I am flexible on the size of the window.)

Located on the front, side, back of the house? Would help to see the exterior.

Nidnay, it is located on the side of the house. The next object is the side of the neighbors house. It is a very low traffic area. I will get a pic when I can.

A transom window would work great (as long as it doesn’t look bad from the outside).

Your carpenter would simply have to reframe for the transom and then install it. Then, your tile guys would install your shower waterproofing, after which they would install a solid piece of marble, granite etc. for the windowsill.

Thanks for posting the picture. I assume now you have used your shower for a while... Anything you would do differently now? Same window height? Same window dimensions?

Looks like you have a shower head in the ceiling. How do you like that? If you had it to do over, would you include that?

This was for a client. I haven't heard any complaints about the size or position. They seem to like the rainhead.

I did the same. Closed in the original window to the size of a smaller window.
