If you need to cut the glare or sunlight, you need to cover the slider window. There are fabric-covered verticals which are pretty nice (3-Day Blinds), and you could look at light-filtering roll-up grasscloth shades. You get some light with the roll-ups, but not the glare. The fabric-covered verticals block the light so may not be your choice. I have both of these in my home

What is the context of the room? For a more transitional/traditional aesthetic, you could layer a wispy sheer that puddles a bit at the bottom (only if over a wood/tile floor) closest to the slider, and a heavier linen or subtle monochromatic patterned drape on the interior. For a more modern look, you can substitute a sun roller shade in place of your wispy sheer, and mount the rods at the ceiling height, for a more dramatic vertical effect. Also, consider only stacking them off to one side, not the traditional symmetrical look.
