No wall. It’s not like one can see the kitchen from the front door (not that that would bother me anyway).

@tedbixby - I think that’s a great idea, but we are kinda planning something similar for most of the railing going towards the downstairs already, it might be a little much to add it coming up there as well?
@emilyam819 - well at the moment there is a big window there (the blinds are down). In the future, we may change the door and frost the glass or something, but you’ll still be able to see people either way 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldnt do a wall. I would do a texture privacy glass floor ceiling panel at the floor level and glass metal railing. I found this picture with with glass wall if u idea for glass. If glass would fit your design.

My first impression was that the glass front door looks more like the door to an office than a front door of a home. It allows anyone at the door to look into your home, day or night....a definite privacy and safety issue to me. The MCM homes I have known have solid front doors in strong MCM colors and any sidelites are frosted for privacy. Even if the house has a locked, gated walkway, I would consider replacing the door.

felizlady, the OP has a solid front door, which is open in the pics, revealing the storm door.

Kristen, when I was a child, we lived in a ca, 1960 split entry home, which had a short wall blocking the kitchen work area from the front door. The fridge and sink were on that short wall (no DW), but in our home the hall was between the wall and the stairs. I think a wall would be fine in your plan, maybe with a piece of art on display.
