Dining Table for Open Kitchen

We have an open kitchen and dining room area and I’m struggling hard to find a dining table. The kitchen is very traditional (off white with trims) which isn’t our taste and I don’t want a traditional dining room table to match it. The dining room table should be about 70 inches but needs to be extendable for family gatherings. The table has to have a casual feel since it’s an everyday use. The only one that I have found that sort of fits our needs is this one from pottery barn but I don’t love the color As It’s a little lighter than I would have liked. Do you think this would clash with rest of the house? We do plan on putting a ruggable rug under the table to that may help break apart the colors. What color rug would work well with this space if we decide to just buy this table? I would not buy the chairs or bench.
