as for painting the cabs, yes, you could have them done in a nice white like Simply White, but are you prepared for the price? You're prob looking at 5K, give or take.

countertops, once the cabs are painted, you could go w/anything you like. But figure another 5-8K, at least, depending on what you choose. Go walk around a slab yard and see what you like.

If you want to keep what's on the cabs, remove a door and take it with you to a slab/stone yard.

Also, do NOT get the 4" riser if you plan on tiling a backsplash

Here’s what it looked like before we painted the trimming white. No we don’t have lighting underneath the cabinets.

Can you post better pictures, in daylight with ALL the lights on? Add from different angles?

How long have you lived there? I ask because before spending money on a kitchen redo if you have not had time to figure out if the space works for you it is best to wait a while. I see things I would change but that is me, you need to love the space before spending any money. I do agree some better pictures .

get the walls painted a lighter off white. If you want color on the wall it would be blue undertones [robins egg blue-pale shade ] that complement the cabs and floor.... . Then a counter which has cremes and whites and maybe some brown veining. A stunning granite will work to shift the focus. Or more subtle corian if that's your thing. Get those walls lighter. The gray green paint isn't flattering some of the nice aspects. No I wouldn't paint the cabinets ….there are several other things to do.

I love creamy paint over pure white.

What changes would you make? This is our 5th year. Not sure if this is our forever home...

I'd remove that window trim. if you plan on doing a backsplash, i'd tile all around the window and up to the ceiling. (but that 90's trim around the window needs to go!) and the mini blinds too

woven woods above, roman blinds below. (you could even use a marble subway tile like they've done here (above) and go all the way up to the ceiling)

then either tile around the window or use a simple square wood trim and paint it white.

get some roman blinds, or woven woods,, (or nothing) and do regular square trim:

If you're changing countertop, do not get that piece up the back. If keeping your countertop, remove the piece (you can carefully pry it off the wall) and do a lighter tile backsplash

this was a friend of mine who had soapstone and went w/a pale green glass tile from Fireclay. Her cabinets are more like yours w/the antique white.

You're already in two palettes. The warm ivory of the cabinets and cooler gray of the walls. :) That said, not sure the cabinet quality deserves a paint job:) to a cleaner white
