Look for your style - put the following words (separately) in top search box: transitional, traditional, mid century modern. See ideas. Pick out looks that you like. Get a print rug (picking up the teal) that goes under entire seating arrangement. Put table lamps or wall sconces in each corner at chest height. Put all the items that are on the brown piece of furniture in another room or donate them. Get a huge piece of wall decor to go in that spot (pick up the teal). Go big or go home. Get side tables for each end of the couches, or get one middle coffee table. Get it in an upholstered style. I don't know about you, put I'd crash my mid-calf into a wooden one at least once a day. Consider getting throws for the couches. I love them for when I curl up and take a nap. Take a black and white picture of this after you've made changes so you see the contrast. What do you like and not like? Change as needed. Review and repeat until satisfied. Report back to us, if you'd like!

I agree with Olychick. I am not a fan of inspiration pictures, unless you are using them to help you solve a particular problem and you want to see how other people handles a long skinny living room, or curtains for a bay window or what have you.

You clearly have great taste. I it were me, I would be looking for a rug, something abstract and modern probably, And then, keep a lookout for some great art. Add some throw pillows if you find some special ones, not just any pillows because you have to tick off that box. Love, love, love the tuxedo sofas, the gorgeous color, and the lovely flooring.

PS Do not worry about color coordinating the art. Art stands alone.

PPS Take a peek at pillows made from Timorous Beasties fabric. It's not everyone's cuppa, but lots of interesting choices that work really well with your teal.

Love the teal sofas! (I have emerald green ones myself and love them too.) I'd suggest a print rug incorporating teal and other colors in a design that speaks to you. Maybe one of these or these might speak to you?) Also, consider a couple of side tables and a nice coffee table, which shouldn't necessarily match but have a sense of coordination, perhaps in glass or acrylic or metal. I don't particularly care for the chest you have now but if its important, then perhaps it can work in a better place. Pull the two sofas closer to the coffee table. I would think about a comfy chair or two, perhaps in lovely prints that also include teal. I found this from Lee but there are lots of others,

Don't forget lamps, both floor and table. I think you can go both modern and traditional as well in both or either gold or silver or maybe acrylic. This is one I have to balance out the traditional parts of my home and I love it. This one is also lovely, I think.

As for art, don't look at match. Zalco is right; art should stand alone. Above all, and to the exclusion of everything else, you should love it, whether it's a fine reproduction of a famous painting to maps that fascinate to original art or photography. If you love it, it will work.

We’re not seeing the whole room, but would it work to put the sofas in an L arrangement for a better conversation area? Then a large square end table between the sofas and a round coffee table. In addition to a rug and large art as mentioned I would get some tall potted plants. Maybe a floor lamp along with table lamps.

Love the sofas. I would add a beautiful rug that is large enough to go underneath both sofas at least 12". Pull the sofas out just a bit (no need to have everything against the walls).

No more matching or pairs of lamps or tables, unless you want to end up looking like a catalog or furniture showroom. Add items with curves and texture to break up the hard lines and add interest.

Large art on wall over sofa and a modern wire/metal wall sculpture over cabinet. If you decide to do art over cabinet, make it a large vertical piece.

Here is a room in a show house using a sofa similar in color to yours. I like the oriental rug that they used. Chartreuse is an interesting accent color but may not work with your walls.
