The cushions are attached with 3 Velcro patches per cushion.

Initially we set them in place with no attachment to allow the client to get the feel of their appearance and test their use. After a few weeks we found the cushions to “almost” stay put with the sliding in and out. As there are only two adult empty nesters, the heaviest use came on weekends with visiting family.

We added 3 Velcro patches on each cushion, 2 middle bottom, 1 upper middle. The cushions sometimes pull off a little but they seem to have some memory and fall back in place by themselves.

There are a couple of drawbacks, the cushions are not reversible and we expect the Velcro on the cushion to come off over time. On the other hand, our client helped make the decision and was willing to experiment. If it comes off, that will give us a chance to revisit the client. They remain delighted and fun to visit with.
