Leathered Marble Care

Hello, we have had leathered white rhino marble counters in our kitchen for 10 months. It is beautiful, and we've had no issues with etching or staining. However, it is developing tiny little dark dots all over the leathered surface. I'm guessing it is maybe the Method granite/marble cleaner we use daily or just dust or something else getting stuck in the grooves. I cleaned a small patch with a baking soda/water mix and a magic eraser and both would get the dots out. But I'm afraid to weaken the sealant or do other damage. Basically I need to use a cleanser or a sponge that is harsh enough to deep clean the leathered grooves in the counters but not damage, scratch or erode the seal. Any thoughts or ideas? Both to get rid of the dots now and hopefully prevent this from recurring. Thank you!

Just use a soft bristle brush. Not a harsher cleaner.

Thank you! This makes a lot of sense. I tried a new toothbrush on a small patch and it looks like new. And no concern the brush will hurt the surface or sealer? The stone fabricator has not been helpful, so I really appreciate this simple yet effective idea!

Isn't Magic Eraser sandpaper? I would think that's too abrasive for marble.

I had honed Carera marble counters in my kitchen that I cleaned with Softscrub with bleach and a green scrubbie sponge. I also used Comet when out of Softscrub. Removed surface etches and never hurt the marble. I have the same counters in my master bath right now and clean it the same way. Marble is tougher than everyone makes it out to be- as long as you don't have a polished surface. You can reapply the sealer on your own after cleaning.
