2020 Raleigh Spring Swap

The 2020 Raleigh Spring Swap will be held Saturday, April 25th 2020 at White Deer Park - Pine Shelter in Garner. The shelter is reserved from 1pm til 4pm. Swapping will begin around 2. Everything will be the same as in past swaps. Please share on other platforms.

As mentioned on the other post, the town of Garner is cancelling activities at its parks - so the 2020 Raleigh Spring Plant Swap is cancelled. Sorry folks. Anyone involved in a special trade can organize something on their own. I thought about ways we could pull off the swap without a lot of crowding but if the parks close...I think its time we recognize the severity of this crisis. I do intend to hold future swaps whenever this clears up. In the mean time "Wash your hands!"

As of today - March 14, 2020, the Raleigh Spring Swap is still going to happen. The park has not been closed due to coronavirus everyone has been advised to use our best judgement concerning crowds and hygiene. I expect attendance to be low.

Yeah. Sorry but the parks dept in Garner hasn't contacted me to tell me we can have a shelter (they put the spring rental on "hold"). I keep thinking they will notify me that we can come back but I think they reduced their staff so they don't have anyone to clean up afterwards so they are either limiting rentals or not renting shelters at all. I am super busy fixing my greenhouse, basement, and all three porches while I am furloughed from the state fair so I don't have time anyway. If the pandemic is still going strong by April 2021 I will host a swap at my house instead of the park.

Oh John, That is aweful news! 2020 is proving to be diificult for a lot of people including us. We are just hanging in, doing garden chores, cleaning the yard, house...I am hoping and praying 2021 is better.
