Is the porch floor at the same level as the foyer?

I'm with Ci Lantro. I'd carry that tile on the porch straight into the foyer. it would look great.

Thank you all for the ideas! if it is a dark slate, would it make the small foyer dark and small? It is north facing and did not get a lot of light. Thus, the dilemma!

How about a black/white patterned floor look? Or, the white marble tile w dark vein pattern ?

Your house, your call. I still like the slate idea. Is there a side lite on the other side of the door? Because the sidelights help a whole bunch in keeping the foyer light.

I have a slate entry as well as sidelites. They were half lights & had to be replaced. Opted for full lites almost identical to the one in your picture and it made a huge difference.

@ci_lantro Thanks for sharing about the lights. We have only one ceiling light in the front porch. I will go to a tile store and see if I can get a slate that will work w the existing light. Thank you

Winnie, not electric lights? (Is that what you thought I meant?) I was talking about the glass windows next to the door, aka 'sidelites'.

My original sidelites were glass on top & wood on the bottom. Had to be replaced so we opted for full glass ones.
