Boot trays.

You get an indoor outdoor, you add a boot tray. You TRAIN the kids to immediately remove snowy footwear, after stomping most of it off before they put a hand on the doorknob to enter.

Helpful to know if this is patio, mud or foyer at front. A few picture would help with surrounding decor.

For me? A boho tha t goes out to be cleaned at the end of the season.Nothing will hurt it. A professional "rug wash" is all it needs.

Or you get something cheap and forgiving, and either clean or toss at the end of the season

Agree with the water hog mat and boot tray. Or lock the door and make them come in another door. My parents made us come in the basement door on snow days. We all use the basement door on snow days, and the back door on other days. The front entry stays nice.

I got the hog mat for outdoors, tray for indoors.

LL Bean water hog!!i have one that was by my main door at least 5 years and now one by this main door 11 years. Both look like new!

It's the front entryway. There's no decor yet as we're in the process of having a built in bench w/shelves and coat hooks added. Once that's in I'll decorate. But I'll be looking for darker blues and/or grays for a rug.

I use www.flor.com for this exact purpose. It’s good looking, cost effective and when I get tired of it or it gets dirty I recycle it and buy more!

I just don't like the look of most of the waterhog mats, but I do see a couple I like at LL Bean so probably one of those will work.
