More than one virus to worry about

This is a positive HVX test. (Lets hope coronavirus tests are this easy and fast soon).

Ginzu Knife has been in this pot since spring 2015. It’s been sinking every year as the soil compacted so early last month as it started to pip I dug it out and put it in a pot in pot that got it to the top of the big pot. I even put insulation around the plastic pot trying to keep it cool enough that GK would slow down but it came up like gangbusters. Two days ago I got a good look at it while watering it and cursed viruses in general. Yesterday I tested it and confirmed my fears. What a project it’s going to be to get all that soil out of the red pot and sterilize it so it can be used again! We’re on two week stay at home orders so Ive got plenty of time.

There are lots of hostas showing vole damage. The damage from the last visit of tree removal equipment going through my garden is almost repaired. And I’m sewing face masks For Health Care Providers. And it was 87F here yesterday afternoon at the end of March. And Apple said I’m spending 7+ hours a day online. If this is what retirement is like I want to go back to work.

Sorry about your HVX. Yes, we need more rapid tests for coronavirus and have it more readily available. Sure caught the government(s) with their pants down!

Sorry about your GK Kathy. It at least was separated from your others and I assume you clean your tools before moving to another if you cut them back.

On the positive side that is a great view to look out onto. It looks fabulous!

Lemon Ice & First Blush are doing so well.

Sewing the face masks is such a positive contribution. Good on you!

My point was the HVX test is fast and easy. That’s what we need for a coronavirus test. I know someone who is still waiting for corornavirus test results after 10 days.

you've sure been busy!..sorry that you have HVX..I was wondering if you use a new pot within a pot again would it be safe to leave the soil in the red container?..

Sorry to hear about your continuing battle with voles and now your Ginsu Knife having HVX after all this time of not knowing it. And all that soil in your pot now being suspect. Ugh! ....I'm glad to see you check in and that you're doing well, since I thought you said you went to Mardi Gras. I hope your friend whose waiting for test results will be okay, too.

I noticed one of my hostas looked bad at the end of last year, but I didn't have any test strips, and fall is not the best time to test any how. It's in line on my downhill slope where I had two others that I removed due to HVX fears, so I'm waiting to see what it comes up looking like this year.
