I don't really like black countertops, I like more of an earth tone. My floor is a hot mess and we are replacing with light hardwood next year. Do you have suggestions on colors names for the gray? Thanks

Since you are going with light hardwood, maybe Toasted Almond. I love Coarse Marfil and Giallo Michelangelo but they me be not homogenous enogh for most of people's taste. I would consider getting samples of your prospect hardwood floor and comparing with the tones of Corian and try to match them, going for the slightest lighter tones for the countertops. And in this case, I would consider copper for lights and hardware.

Oh no you gave some really nice options I think I like the tan best.

I think white and grey look fabulous together, but am not particularly fond of how a yellowish/brownish hardwood looks with grey. Therefore if you're having light-colored hardwood floors I would go with a beige countertop. I agree with suggestion that the counters coordinate with the floors. It really pulls the kitchen together.

Then trnorman, embrace the French/Tuscan kitchen style and go for it! But I'm afraid in this case you might have to say goodbye to the staniless back splash.

I am not sold on the floors yet so that could change. I want to get the counters done first then floors. I know I want a light gray or beige color. But with it being SOOOO many options in gray an beige, my head is spinning. This is more of the back splash I am going with. I never know this would be so difficult.

Trnorman-if you like the natural stone countertops in the photo with the farm sink cmbruno8 post, consider price comparing with the Corian. You might be surprised. Natural stones is alway a great addition to a remodel and very durable.

The granite looks like it might be either New Venetian Gold or St. Cecilia.

I will give that a look as well, thanks for the suggestion. I am finding out corian is not much less than other surfaces.

I vote for light grey and chrome accents also. I think it will look great with the white cabinets and your stainless backsplash (as in complimenting each other!

Looks like gray it is my husband loves gray. Can anyone give me guidance on a gray that does not have too many specks in it, I don't like those.

Only excellent quality marble doesn't have specks. Maybe a hight quality granite or dark ones will not show them too much..If you want a light grey granite you should will find them under "white" names. You can also have a honed instead of polished finish which will not enhance the specks.

I really think you should decide what color floor you will eventually get now ...

White with tan countertops would look awesome with a light wood floor ...

Ok so paint has been applied and I am still stuck on countertops and backsplash. I like gray but have been unsuccessful with finding the right one. Any other ideas? We are not redoing the floors until next year. A nice hardwood.

I like it. I think you could find a granite with a color very much alike. It would be a question of price and balancing the advantages of each one. Here in Brazil we like to use the same material on the countertops and backsplash
whenever the backsplash is not too tall. I have seen this done in very fancy kitchens in the US but I gather this is not usually done. I think that using the same material whenever possible gives a very sofisticated look, spcecially when th floor is going to be done in another color and another material (tile x wood)

I have looked at so many granite options and don't like any, the patterns are too spotty for me. Everyone thinks granite is the holy grail, not I. I just can't seem to decide on options. I love marble of course that won't work.

You haven't looked at all granite. Yes it's asked for by buyers. But other ways to go. Try a white, gray marble. Black subway backsplash.

Chane hardware to brush nickel. Long pulls. On side of cabinets. I would stain or paint cabinets. If staining go 2 shades darker. If painting. White with silver glaze. No valance go roman shades in Med. gray.

Paint ceiling same as walls. A dove gray.
