Design Dilemma Home Decorating Dining Room

Height for wainscoting?

I’d like to add wainscoting & a dramatic color up top (forest green or navy) similar to the photo attached. I like the idea of a taller wainscoting but don’t think that would flow well from the living room. Would you agree that the wainscoting should be the same height as the chair rail? Or do you think the chair rail could be one height in the living room and another height in dining room? I’ve included a couple photos.

I would keep it the same height as the chair rail throughout. Those rooms don't look very big, so consistency is key.

I would lower the wainscot in the dining ( approx 30 -32") this will help with the low ceiling hgt. and help make the window taller looking which also is a better scale when sitting at table

Keep it consistent. The higher wainscoting makes the room more cozy. It is mostly used in dining rooms and studies.
