Nancy, wouldn’t it be great if all daylilies had branching like the last photo! I especially like the second daylilies with the pink and ruffled edge.

Nice grouping but I agree with Sherry about the second pic. Really pretty color and form. How is the overall scape/bud count?

I like them! They are all so happy-looking and healthy. It's so rewarding to create our very own one of a kind daylily. You have a nice collection. The branching on the last one is wonderful. I always enjoy seeing your seedlings!

Nice group of seedlings! I really like #2, 4 and 8. #8 is a nice bitone with an interesting throat. #2 is a delicate beauty and I love near whites with pinkish or red eyes as in #4.

Sherry, I wish that well branched one had a more appealing bloom, but it is out of Orange Velvet. Looks similar but smaller flower and late season bloomer. It usually reblooms too so is one of the last to finish blooming so it will be staying.

Julia, that 2nd one had very few blooms, only 6 or 7 at the top of the scape. 1st season for bloom, I am hoping for better this year.

Thank you so much Celeste, I have so many seedlings and really need to get rid of many of them, but they are my babies. I have only been able to give some away that did perform ok, just too similar to others I have. I have composted some that just did not perform well at all. I need to part with more plants, but can't bring myself to do it.

Nancy, #4 appeals to me a lot too. I hope it still looks like that this year, seems like my 2nd year seedlings can change looks some, and sometimes not for the good. That bitone is obviously a favorite with me, one of my earlier seedlings that I am happy with. It is capable of good bud counts-over 20 I consider good-and I love the color and look of it. about 25" or so tall, about a 4" flower, I think it makes a good front of the border plant.

Nancy, these are all so pretty! I agree that second one really stands out-such wonderful coloring. And that fifth one looks to have great coloration as well. Is it as large as it looks? You know I like my big honking look at me daylilies!!!! It will be interesting to see how you assess some of these this year and how they look as well.

The 5th one can get to 8", usually less though. All my seedlings are not in prime real estate in my garden, they fight weeds, never get extra water and certainly no fertilizer. I did bring a few that I especially like, #2 is one, closer to the house and they get better treatment :)

nice group of daylilies Nancy ! That last one is a bloom machine by the looks of it ! Some very pretty blooms here . My taste runs to number 1 , 6 and 8 of your images. How nice to have these to look forward to this year.

If the one with the great branching is a late, it's certainly worth holding onto. The color looks to be salmon pink on my monitor. Is that correct? My favorites are no. 1 and 2 on the first post, and no. 1 on the second one.

Yes, Debra, it is about that color, I crossed Orange Velvet with Lime Frost I believe and got that sort of salmon/coral color

I have some day lilies from seeds. It’s been six years. They are growing well and strong but never flowered. What can I do to make them bloom?

ange2006, From what I understand, if they don't bloom by the third year they never will. My main question: do they have plenty of sun?

Brad, I am so disappointed. They get sun from 11-3. Do you think more sun may help?

Ange, while there are exceptions, 7 hours or more are best.

That last one is a bloom machin, Nancy and that second one is very delicate and pretty.
