That ash being right there will certainly be making them more see through than if they weren't getting shaded. However the yellowing will be something else, maybe mites (if junipers ever get these). If you can't spot anything like this using a magnifier, live in the US try clipping samples of affected parts and taking them to your nearest USDA Cooperative Extension Service branch office. If they are closed all the time now because of the pandemic - which seems likely - then try them after things loosen up again.

Embothrium , thank you. ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5, I am in Colorado and have used the Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Protect & Feed II for the past couple of years on my Ash tree, although some of the bark seems to be sloughing off so it may be too little too late.

Not an issue here but your local county extension may be able to help.

i also treated with bayer ... and as the trees grew.. so did the cost.. exponentially ... imo.. get rid of the ash.. and use the money for the restoration project ...

i would also note ... that this is one of the downfalls of planting a monoculture of one type of plant.. when when starts suffering ... odds are.. they all will .. it might be in your interest.. to remove every other and replace with anything not juniper ... and then in a few years.. remove the others and replant with anything not juniper and not whatever you planted the as the first replacements ... you would still have most of the sight line blacking ... but you would be restoring it with something else.. call this your 5 year plan ...
