Transplanting bulbs in Spring

last modified: 6 years ago

How successful is transplanting bulbs, and bulb-like items in Spring? Tried moving a few, and some animals dug up a few. Have some smaller Tulips, they don't seem to have much roots yet. Moved a couple Fritillaria, don't know if they will survive. Voodoo Lily types can take much abuse, but hard to tell if they will grow this year, they can be stubborn. These are new planting from last year, so they may not be as established.

Plus... I can tell where everything is right now, so I can place plants better. In Autumn, I have to guess where the successful bulbs are hiding and plant around them.

Negative... may just be hurting the bulbs ability to survive, but it's my money
