There are many old threads with similar issues. Do a search with 'quartzite staining' and you will get some ideas on how to proceed. Quartzite porosity is discussed here.

Great info on these posts. working on getting the installer back in a few weeks to put some thicker layers of sealer on. Just letting the stain run it’s course and hopefully dry out in a week or so.

heat gun didn’t seem to make any difference so I’m guessing the bernzomatic might not do to much.

Let it dry out and then reseal until water beads up. It may take many coats. I used Tenax Proseal on a porous granite in a bathroom and it has worked really well. I used Tenax Skudo on granite counters in our kitchen in a previous house and it worked great as well. Counters looked just as good when we moved out after 14 years. No stains. Sealed them with several coats of sealer once and never had issues in the 14 years we lived there.

You can't solder with a heat gun; you can with a Brenz0matic.

Arghh this is taking forever to dry. I’ve had a fan blowing on it everyday all day. It seems to be lightening up but taking a long time

Have you tried the Bernzomatic? It'll take about 5 minutes.

No I have not. Im not sure I’m just gun shy about putting that kind of heat on brand new counters. I tried finding a video but no luck

Matt, did you just use the flame directly on top of the counter?? i just got Mont Blanc quartzile installed and I was mortified seeing a ring of gray around my air button for the garbage disposal!

Turn it on, hit the igniter, and put the flame to the stone. Don't go crazy please.
