Thank you, Julia and Mantis. I have weeded all of my garden beds but I have to continue weeding a bit daily in the areas I have yet to mulch. This front bed and some of the other areas are mulched, but I have a mean grass in the side bed that grows especially when It rains.

Celeste sent a number of seeds last fall, so I just HAD to enlarge an area for them. Didn't have enough pine needles so went to Lowes for their big sale last weekend.

My husband and daughter would have kittens if I dared to go to Lowes much as I would like to go. Being immune suppressed, I understand their reasoning, but I still really would like to have mulch for the areas I didn't have enough to do.

With my kids, it is a reversal of roles..."I don't care f everyone else is going out, mom, you stay home".

Your garden looks so pristine and ready for a growing season. I am happy with the progress I have made, but I always have weeds. I need some more mulch, but the garden centers are full of people, so I have not gone to get any. Your new seedlings are really going to be happy in that new bed Brad. Reminds me I need to get my seedlings planted and need to rework the bed they are going in.

Nancy, I have the same issue with getting the mulch I need. I would so love to get more, but I am happy I was able to mulch as much as I was under the circs. The garden centers are not safe at this time. And people have bought all the plants; there isn't a tomato plant (nor much of anything else) to be found.

Lowes was very busy but things are arranged so that you are relatively safe. The cashiers have Plexiglas in front of them, aisles are lined out for safety, body count of how many are allowed in the store [not sure how they counted but you were only allowed to go in one entrance] and my next door neighbor was working and loaded the car! But I do understand about the kids. Two of our daughters are extremely protective especially of Janelle. She/we is/are not paranoid [but try to be safe] but she decided to wait in the car since I knew my trip would be quick. Then our daughters had nothing to yell about!

Brad, Mm husband and my kids are paranoid about me leaving the house. I take a heavy dose of the immune suppressant given to liver transplant patients, so there is some reason for me to be extra careful. I have made a lot of cloth masks, but they really mainly keep anyone who is sick form freely spreading and remind you to keep your hands off of your face. I cannot be around the kids because they are in healthcare...front lines. I will continue to do regular weeding for now. On the plus side, my potatoes are doing great.

Janelle has a Long QT syndrome [electrical issue of the heart]. She asked her doctor the other day if that make her more susceptible and he said no. But the daughters are still paranoid about her. She was on an immune suppressant for psoriatic arthritis but she stopped it for now.

Bless her. Psoriatic Arthritis was the original diagnosis along with Sjogren's syndrome; Then Reynauds joined in, but the real problem now is autoimmune hepatitis and I cannot stop my immune suppressant since it is a life or death issue. The Long QT may be associated with Hydroxychloroquinolin if she was taking it .I took it for 15 years but had to quit due to the liver issue.

roxanna7 that made me laugh which is good. I am glad you enjoy my garden. I actually don't mind weeding (which is important since I will be doing a lot of it) because it is calming and it's nice to see the cleared area for the few minutes it stays clear. Weeds grow like gangbusters here in central Alabama. Heather, and Roxanna, thank you for the compliments. Thank you, Heather, I am just about not allowed to leave the house, so unless we get hit with the bad weather I guess I will be staying safe.

I will tell you guys a funny story. I am really not safe anywhere. I was making bread a few weeks ago when I needed to change from the scraper blade to the dough hook. the scraper stuck and would not release so I took a firm hold od the scraper and reached to lock the mixer; instead, I turned it on. One badly sprained and one badly broken finger later, what can I say? A freak accident and I am the freak. The bread was good though.

Everything looks wonderful! I wish I were mulched, but the weeds are thick this year, and like you, I can't get out to get more mulch. I have five bales of pine straw, but that won't even mulch one bed.
